The Internet opens up a whole world of information and opportunities, but it’s important to follow a few basic rules to make sure you stay safe while surfing the net. Chatting online isn’t the same as meeting face-to-face and its easy for someone to pretend to be someone they’re not.

Don’t give out personal details such as phone numbers and addresses and never agree to meet someone without checking with your parents first. If you do meet, always take someone with you and make sure it’s in a busy public place.
